Oleg is seriously ill – if Oleg is not well, my project is not well. Cold nights on the ArgoFram, lots of wind during the day, the unusual stress… Luckily there is Svetlana! Svetlana is a fairy godmother and lives near Cherepovets, our next stop. She will take us in – a breather! And a change in her life! Because Svetlana lives in a small hamlet, only about 80 km outside Cherepovets (that’s a stone’s throw here), and is largely self-sufficient. There are about six or seven other houses where she lives, and plenty of peace and quiet.
Svetlana was a biology teacher. Today she is a successful video blogger with a following of tens of thousands; her topics are nature, baking, knitting… and living well. On her farm there is almost everything she needs. She writes about it and puts videos on the net. – I experience Russia again from a completely different side, the quiet, thoughtful, but no less proud, energetic, entrepreneurial side. There is no sadness with Svetlana; she spends her time on her farm from morning till late at night, between chickens, the computer, chopping wood and pumping water. Always with her: her notebook, her camera, and a big smile. Open to everything that creation gives her.
