After this heavenly night in a quiet bay, we set off early for Calvi, moor at this spacious, “open” harbour, check in with the motivated team at the harbour master’s office, rinse off our salt water – and first of all go for a proper breakfast. The weather conditions remain stable, so we should make it safely to the mainland tomorrow, and Michelle books her flight from Nice back to Tallinn… but first we immerse ourselves in life here once more!

At the pier, we meet Jean and Lea, father and daughter from Alsace, who are holidaying here together. They don’t see each other very often during the year, so they appreciate the time they spend together all the more; they are both very active people, which is probably why they are travelling by motorbike (!) and, like us, are enjoying the warm autumn atmosphere here.

After the city tour, Michelle goes jogging on the endless beach, I do my jumping and strength exercises, then we have a final photo shoot on the gently sloping beach with the enchanting scenery of Calvi in the background, followed by a splash in the sea. Finally, we treat ourselves to a late afternoon nap before heading back up to the old town for a romantic dinner.
