Michelle has a special talent for challenging me with pointed statements, perhaps to test me? – I remain true to myself; fortunately, we always find common ground. Otherwise, we spend carefree hours, heading north again today along the coast, anchoring where it is fantastically beautiful (where excursion boats are gradually arriving too…) and cruising along to Poltu Quatu, another recommendation from Raphaele.

At the entrance to this rocky bay, which extends deep into the interior, Pietro acts as a petrol station attendant. I fill up the tank and am amazed by his curiosity: he wants to know where I come from, what this RIB can do, where I’m going next and why I’ve undertaken this journey… He is so disarmingly open and says frankly that he would like to use all his contacts here to improve his language skills and one day go travelling himself. On the other hand, he is also a little shy and doesn’t want to be photographed. Well, what should I do now? He is the contact here who has made the biggest impression on me… Should I just put someone else in front of the camera?

One of his colleagues picks us up in a small RIB and takes us to our mooring at the very back of this long, rocky bay (photo). It’s very sophisticated here… There’s just one spot left; will our ArgoFram fit into these posh quarters? No matter, we’re enjoying this atmosphere twice as much because of it. And: Michelle finally has the opportunity to slip on her exquisite robes and turn heads – well, I’ll probably challenge her with my observations from time to time too…
